Terms & Conditions
These Terms apply to locksmith services supplied by B&B Locksmiths. Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract. A contract is formed when we accept your booking and you agree to the proposed work and the price, estimate or method by which the price will be calculated.
Please also read our Complaints Policy and Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information but does not form part of the service contract.
1. Our Services
We provide professional locksmith services across Oxford, Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas, including but not limited to:
-
Emergency lockout assistance
-
Lock repairs and replacements
-
Key cutting
-
Security upgrades
-
Safe services
-
Other locksmith services as agreed with you
All services are provided subject to these Terms.
2. Estimates, Pricing and Deposits
Unless expressly described as a fixed quotation, prices provided online, by telephone, by email, or in person are estimates and may vary depending on the work required.
A call-out fee or deposit may be required for certain bookings, including evening and emergency call-outs. Any applicable call-out fee or deposit will be explained before the booking is accepted.
For call-outs requested after 10:00pm, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required. If the work is carried out, this deposit will be deducted from the final invoice.
Estimates are based on the information available when they are given. Before starting work, we will explain the price or the method of calculating it, including applicable call-out charges, labour charges, parts and VAT where applicable.
If additional work becomes necessary, we will explain the reason and obtain your agreement to the additional price before proceeding, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent danger or further damage and it is not reasonably possible to contact you.
3. Booking and Acceptance
By requesting our services, you confirm that:
-
You are the property owner, tenant or otherwise authorised to request locksmith services at the relevant property
-
You have authority to grant us access to the property; and
-
You grant permission for us to carry out the agreed work
We may ask you to provide identification or other reasonable evidence of your authority. If we cannot reasonably verify your identity or authority, we reserve the right to refuse service.
4. Payment Terms
-
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
We accept the payment methods advertised or confirmed at the time of the service, including cash and card payments.
-
If payment is not made when due, we may take reasonable steps to recover the outstanding amount. Consumers will only be charged reasonable costs that we are legally entitled to recover and that arise directly from the non-payment. Different statutory interest provisions may apply to business customers.
5. Access and Damage
Certain locksmith services, particularly emergency entry, may require non-destructive methods to be attempted before forced entry or drilling is undertaken. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the proposed method and the foreseeable risk of damage before undertaking destructive entry.
We will not be responsible for any pre-existing defects, damage or structural weaknesses in doors, frames, locks or surrounding fixtures. Nothing in this section excludes our responsibility for damage caused by our negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
6. Parts and Materials
All parts and materials supplied by us remain our property until they have been paid for in full, to the extent permitted by law.
Any manufacturer’s warranty applies to the relevant parts supplied and does not replace or restrict your statutory rights.
Manufacturers’ warranties do not ordinarily cover our workmanship unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Workmanship and Statutory Rights
We will perform our services with reasonable care and skill. Goods and parts supplied by us must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose made known to us and as described.
Where work does not comply with these requirements, you may be entitled to repeat performance, repair, replacement, a price reduction, a refund or compensation, depending on the circumstances.
Please report any problems as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate them and, where appropriate, put the work right. A delay in reporting an issue does not remove any statutory rights you may have. Manufacturers’ warranties and any additional workmanship guarantees are provided in addition to, and do not replace, your statutory rights.
8. Complaints
If you wish to raise a complaint about our services, please refer to our Complaints Policy, which sets out the procedure for handling complaints. This policy is available at: Complaints
Making a complaint does not affect your statutory rights.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
We process and store personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information, as well as your rights under UK data protection law.
This policy is available at: Privacy Policy
10. Limitation of Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by:
-
Pre-existing defects or structural weaknesses;
-
Inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by you;
-
Your failure to follow reasonable advice or instructions;
-
Misuse or neglect;
-
Work or interference by a third party; or
-
Circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where destructive entry is reasonably necessary and has been explained and authorised, we will not be responsible for unavoidable damage inherent in the agreed method, provided that we have exercised reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
-
Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
-
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
-
Breach of your statutory consumer rights; or
-
Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
If you use our services as a consumer, we are not responsible for losses relating to your trade, business, craft, or profession.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will normally have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live.
