What is BS3621?

BS3621 is a lock standard set by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for thief-resistant locks.

BS3621-compliant locks are commonly fitted to the front and back doors of residential properties, offering a reliable level of security.

Many insurance companies require door locks to meet BS3621 standards to help ensure your property is adequately protected.

How to Tell if Your Locks Are BS3621 Compliant

Method 1: Check for the British Standard Kitemark engraved on the lock.

Method 2: Check for the British Standard number (BS3621) stamped on the lock faceplate.

To check whether your front or back door locks conform to BS3621, look for the British Standard Kitemark (BSI) on the lock’s faceplate.

The faceplate is visible when the door is open. You should see either the Kitemark symbol or the standard number, BS3621, stamped directly onto it.
